Description

The Togo First Invest-4-Jobs Development Policy Financing (DPF) operation is the first in a series of World Bank-supported reforms aimed at making the private sector the primary driver of growth and job creation in Togo. The program seeks to remove structural constraints that limit private investment, entrepreneurship, and economic competitiveness. Its approach relies on implementing reforms covering access to land, the energy sector, digital infrastructure, foreign investment attractiveness, business formalization, and professional skills development to foster inclusive, private-sector-led growth.

Objectives

📈 Stimulate private investment:
Create a regulatory and institutional environment that is more favorable to domestic and foreign investors.

🌾 Modernize productive sectors:
Improve agricultural productivity through land reforms and better access to finance.

⚡ Reduce infrastructure constraints:
Strengthen energy sector governance and improve access to digital services.

👨‍💼 Create more formal jobs:
Facilitate the formalization of SMEs and develop skills tailored to labor market needs.
