Description

The National Agricultural Value Chain Development Project (NAVCDP) is a rural and agricultural development program aimed at increasing smallholder market participation, improving the added value of agricultural products, and strengthening selected value chains across Kenya. It builds on the achievements of previous projects such as NARIGP (National Agricultural and Rural Inclusive Growth Project) and KCSAP (Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project) to scale up investments in infrastructure, agricultural services, financial facilitation, and structured markets for farmers.

Objectives

🌱 Strengthen producer capacity:
Improve sustainable and climate-resilient productivity through training, e-vouchers, and inputs for common interest groups across 9-16 value chains.

📈 Increase market participation:
Facilitate linkages between farmers and private sector actors for better marketing and added value.

️ Develop infrastructure:
Invest in irrigation, rural/urban markets, and post-harvest assets to reduce losses.

🔄 Strengthen institutions:
Train governments and stakeholders for effective coordination and supportive policies.
