Description
The Women and Cocoa Communities Initiative (WCC) is an integrated economic and social development program for rural cocoa-producing communities in Côte d'Ivoire. The program is based on a multi-sectoral approach combining women's economic empowerment, cooperative strengthening, financial inclusion, education, agroforestry, and climate adaptation. The intervention strategy aims to sustainably transform cocoa-growing communities by simultaneously strengthening women's economic capacity, cooperative governance, and the resilience of agricultural systems. The program specifically supports the creation and development of income-generating activities, access to appropriate financial services, and the professionalization of rural women's organizations.
