Climate Partnerships: Supporting Nature-Based Climate Solutions

This international financing mechanism, called Partnerships for Climate: Supporting Nature-Based Climate Solutions, aims to support large-scale initiatives in developing countries. It combines the challenges of climate, biodiversity, and local economic development. The program funds projects whose objectives are to: restore essential ecosystems (including mangroves, forests, savannas, and marine systems); strengthen the resilience of the most vulnerable populations; generate sustainable economic opportunities; and adopt an inclusive approach that places women and Indigenous Peoples at the heart of the action.

🌿 Strengthen nature-based solutions for adaptation:
Support initiatives based on natural ecosystems (mangroves, agroforestry) to enhance climate resilience and preserve biodiversity.

👥 Promote a feminist and inclusive approach:
Integrate gender equality into at least 80% of projects, fostering women's leadership in climate adaptation actions.

️ Improve climate governance:
Strengthen national policies, such as Nationally Determined Contributions and National Adaptation Plans.

🌍 Facilitate global knowledge sharing:
Create a community of practice to share lessons learned and accelerate the adoption of nature-based solutions on a larger scale.
