Description
PADCAE-B is a rural investment program aimed at the sustainable development of agricultural and livestock value chains in three provinces of northern Burundi. It combines hydro-agricultural infrastructure development, sustainable intensification, land tenure security, institutional strengthening, and the promotion of agricultural entrepreneurship. The program targets key stages of the selected value chains—production, collection, processing, and marketing—to boost productivity, organize producer groups, and improve market access, all while enhancing resilience to climate change. Its intervention strategy is based on an integrated approach that combines sustainable natural resource management, production improvements, value chain commercialization, and private-sector capacity building to create a more competitive and resilient agricultural sector.
