Description

The Project to Support the Incentive Mechanism for Agricultural Financing based on Risk-Sharing (ProMIFA) is designed to stimulate inclusive rural economic growth in Togo by facilitating access to tailored financial services for smallholder farmers and agricultural SMEs, while reducing the risks perceived by financial institutions. The project supports the development of priority value chains—specifically rice, maize, poultry, and market gardening—to improve food and nutritional security in rural communities. Its intervention strategy relies on a financing and risk-sharing mechanism capable of unlocking agricultural credit, improving financial products, and strengthening the capacities of rural finance stakeholders. Concurrently, the project aims to support agricultural and rural entrepreneurship to foster the emergence of economically viable activities that are better integrated into markets.

Objectives

🌾 Developing agricultural value chains:
Strengthening the production, processing, and marketing of priority sectors.

💳 Facilitating access to finance:
Reducing risks for banks and increasing financing for agricultural stakeholders.

🚀 Supporting rural entrepreneurship:
